On the morning of 22nd April, 2025, the Scindian community observed World Earth Day with great zeal and a series of impactful activities aimed at spreading awareness about environmental conservation.
The morning began with an art-based initiative in which over 600 members of the school community—including students and staff—participated in creating drawings, sketches, and graffiti centered around pressing environmental themes such as rewilding, water management, waste reduction, energy conservation, and organic farming. This vibrant display of creativity highlighted the collective consciousness of the school towards safeguarding our planet.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr. Ajay Singh emphasized the importance of making Earth Day an everyday commitment. “While we mark Earth Day on a particular date, our actions throughout the year should reflect our dedication to the planet. Small, mindful habits—like switching off lights and fans when not in use, avoiding water wastage, and keeping our surroundings clean—play a significant role in protecting the environment. No action is too small,” he remarked. He also spoke about the school’s ongoing initiative of observing “No Vehicle Day” every Tuesday, underscoring the school's proactive approach to sustainability.
In a symbolic gesture of energy conservation, all lights in the school were switched off for one hour. During this time, students remained in their respective houses and participated in talent-sharing sessions that included poetry recitation, singing, instrumental performances, and other creative expressions, further reinforcing the message of harmony with nature.
The event saw the active participation of the Principal Mr. Ajay Singh, Vice Principal Ms. Smita Chaturvedi, Dean of Co-Scholastic Activities Mr. Dhirendra Sharma, Program Coordinator Mr. Gopal Chaturvedi, along with faculty members, administrative staff, and students—all of whom came together to make the celebration meaningful and memorable.
