The 74th Republic Day of our great nation was celebrated at the Fort with a lot of enthusiasm. On arrival, the Chief Guest, Mr Anand Rao Pawar (Ex-Sh, 1964), an eminent Old Boy, unfurled the tricolor and inspected the parade; after which, the smartly turned out marching contingent, marched to varied tunes of the Brass Band. The contingent was led by the Old Boys of the batch of 1973. The Old Boys of the Batch of 1982 also marched in the parade. The Principal, Mr Ajay Singh welcomed the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest, Mr Anand Rao Pawar urged the Scindian community to indulge in creative arts and always to respect the guru. After the Chief Guest’s address everybody moved to the Astachal where floral tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation. Vidit Gupta, the Deputy Senior School Prefect welcomed the fraternity and the guests to the spiritual water- hole of the school, Astachal. Poetry and prose pieces commemorated the occasion and a patriotic song followed. It was then, time for the batch of 1973 to hand over the baton of the Golden Jubilee Reunion to the representatives of the next batch. The silence observed thereafter, was an opportunity to speak with oneself and contemplate the true meaning of ‘Freedom’ and ‘Independence’. The Social Service League of the school organised Shramjivi Sports for the Support Staff on the Oval field.
