The Editors’ Conference 2024

The Editors’ Conference 2024, hosted in the school from 14–16 November, brought together creative talents from schools across the region and world. This unique platform emphasized collaboration over competition, nurturing aspiring journalists, editors, photographers, and illustrators in a dynamic environment. The conference opened with a keynote address by Mr. Rasheed Kidwai, an eminent journalist and author, who shared his experiences and insights into the ever-evolving field of media and communication.
Workshops led by distinguished professionals, including Mr. Arun Anand (editorial writing), Mr. Saunak Shah (photography), Mr. Sandeep Adhvaryu (illustration), and Ms. Nidhi Sharma (journalism), provided participants with hands-on training. Each team, comprising six students, engaged in practical sessions, including field surveys at Gwalior’s vibrant market- Bada. These surveys focused on a social cause, teaching young minds the essence of investigative journalism.
The collaborative effort culminated in the creation of innovative newsletters, which were critiqued by mentors to refine participants’ skills further. Beyond workshops, cultural activities like the Meadow Walk and a visit to the Light and Sound Show at Mansingh Palace enriched the experience. The conference concluded with the presentation of newsletters and beautiful qawwali rendition.
