On the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi, 7th September 2024, the Bank courtyard in the Scindia School campus was transformed into the sacred abode of Lord Ganesha as students, staff and their families gathered to celebrate Ganesh Sthapna. This joyful occasion brought together the Scindian community in a heartwarming display of devotion and spirit of celebration.
The proceedings commenced with a traditional puja, led by the Principal Mr. Ajay Singh and Mrs. Anamika Singh, who offered prayers to Lord Ganesha. The choir sang the Ganpati songs with gusto. After the puja, it was time for the much-awaited distribution of prasad of ‘panjeeri’ and ‘charanamrit’.
The next day, with great reverence and joy, the idol, which had graced our courtyard with its presence, was carried in a grand procession to the Suraj Kund. The beating of dhols, joyful dance of the students, and the resonant chants of "Ganpati bappa maurya" echoed through the campus.
Upon reaching Suraj Kund, the idol was immersed in accordance with tradition. This symbolic act of immersion signified the cycle of creation and dissolution, a reminder of the impermanence of life.
