A Folk Dance workshop was organised in the Assembly Hall for the students of classes VI, VII, and VIII on the 23rd of August, 2019 from 7 pm to 8 pm. Joe Danzbiker and Anusha Viresh were the resource persons for the same. They have travelled across the length and breadth of the country during festivals, learning a varied form of dances. The workshop was not only informative, it was also an active session. They informed the students about dances of the Banjaras, Punjabis, of Odisha, North East India and various other corners of the country. They also showed a video of a festival in Nagaland, where 4600 Nagamese women danced to Naga folk tunes, attempting a Guinness World Record.
The dancers also encouraged children to utilise their worth and participate actively in realising their passion, especially in the field of creative arts. The workshop ended with an engaging Q&A session. The children thoroughly enjoyed the entire session and they danced to the moves of various indigenous folk music!
