Stone Carving

Stone carving requires deft hands to support an imaginative eye. A student needs to visualize the image he seeks embedded in the stone, before he picks up his tools. The basics of stone carving and the skills of handling various tools are taught in this hobby class. It is a delight to see the students work diligently, giving shape to their creativity. They craft from miniatures to monuments, lamps to portraits, and every year on Founder’s Day, they showcase their creativity.

Stone carving can whet the interest of students who may later go on to pursue sculpting or architecture.
