Board of Governors
The Scindia Education Society constituted in the year 1956 is the custodian of The Scindia School, Fort, Gwalior. The Society is governed by the constitution, which contains the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association. The Society was registered under the Societies Registration Act in the year 1956. The Board of Governors are chosen from amongst the members of the Society. Two Board Members are nominated by the Department of Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The President of the Scindia School Old Boys’ Association Central is an Ex-officio Invitee Member. The Principal of the School is the Ex-officio Member Secretary. There is always one Parents’ Representative on the Board of Governors. The Board of Governors are responsible for major policy decisions, custodianship of all the properties and financial health of the institution. Under the Board of Governors there are specific committees looking into different areas of development of the school namely- Human Resource, Finance, Infrastructure, Administration and Alumni Relationships. The day to day running of the institution is entrusted to the internal School Management team.-
SHRI JYOTIRADITYA M SCINDIA
PRESIDENT
SHRI JYOTIRADITYA M SCINDIAPRESIDENT - Scindia Education SocietyShri Jyotiraditya Scindia is currently serving as the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India. He has also been a four-term Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha (2002-04, 2004-09, 2009-14 & 2014-19). He is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the state of Madhya Pradesh since 2020.
A public servant, Mr Scindia began his political journey in 2002. In 2008, he served as the Minister of State for Communications and IT; in 2009 as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, and then, in 2012 as Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power.
Mr Scindia’s tenure as Minister of State for Communications and IT ushered in the transformational Project Arrow that modernized the Indian post offices through new branding and IT-enabled procedures.
In his tenure as Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, he successfully brought down transaction costs in Indian exports at various levels - right from the stage of production to the end customer.
Additionally, as Minister of State for Power (IC), he led the establishment of a unified transmission grid network i.e. One Nation One Grid with a 6-sigma reliability system with linkages for power plants, and resolved last-mile distribution issues in collaboration with State Governments.
Mr Scindia has also been a member of Parliamentary Committees on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports; Defence; Finance; Home and External Affairs.
Mr Scindia completed his schooling from the Doon School, Dehradun. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University, USA and an MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, USA. Besides, Mr Scindia has also worked at the United Nations, and as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.
Apart from his political roles, Mr Scindia is passionate about education. He is currently serving as the President of the Board of Governors at the Scindia School, Madhav Institute of Technology & Sciences, Samrat Ashok Technological Institute and Patron of the Daly College. With an avid interest in cricket, he has also served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the BCCI, and as the Former President and Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.

SHRI RAJENDRA S PAWAR
VICE PRESIDENTSHRI RAJENDRA S PAWARVICE PRESIDENT - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of the Scindia School, he is a graduate from IIT, Delhi. He is the Founder & Chairman, NIIT Limited, NIIT Technologies Ltd. & Founder, NIIT University. For his contribution in shaping the country’s IT sector, he was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2011.
His contributions in the fields of technology and the IT-training industry have been widely acknowledged and he has been conferred prestigious awards like - Distinguished Alumnus Award at IIT Delhi in 1995; The 'IT man of the Year' by IT industry journal, Dataquest in 1998; 'Master Entrepreneur of the Year' by Ernst & Young in 1999; Madhav Award in 1999 at the Scindia School, Gwalior, and Lifetime Achievement ICT Award 2019 by Dataquest.
He is also the Member of the Board of Governors, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Executive Board, ISB, Hyderabad; Member, Board of Governors, IIM Udaipur, and Member of the University Court of Delhi University. He was the Chairman of NASSCOM (2011-12). Currently he is the Chairman of NASSCOM Cyber Security Task Force that has been set up in response to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to see India emerge as a global hub of Cyber Security products and services.
He is a powerhouse of ideas and energy, and his ability to get into the minutest details of any and every process, makes him a blessing for the school. He is always ready to help not only personally, but also mobilizes other resources for the benefit of the school. His constant endeavour is to take the institution forward to meet the highest standards of education. He is culturally rooted, spiritually inclined and is an avid art collector.
He is the Vice President of the Scindia Education Society and the Vice President of the Board of Governors of The Scindia School. He is the Chairman of ICT Committee and Admissions Committee, and member of Alumni Relationship Committee and Infrastructure Committee. He has served on the Board for 20 years.

SHRI RAJEEV DUBEY
MEMBERSHRI RAJEEV DUBEYMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyRajeev Dubey currently serves as the Chairman of Mahindra Insurance Brokers Ltd, Mahindra Steel Service Centre Ltd and Mahindra First Choice Wheels Ltd, and is a Director on the Board of Fifth Gear Ventures Ltd.
He was earlier the Group President (HR & Corporate Services) & CEO (After-Market Sector), Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. In the past 17 years that he has been associated with the Mahindra Group, his key focus areas were Human Capital initiatives of the Group, the After-Market businesses whose CEOs reported to him, Group Communications, Government Relations, CSR and Infrastructure.
Before joining Mahindra & Mahindra, he spent 29 years in the Tata Group, which he joined in 1975 as a member of the TAS, the central managerial cadre of the Tata Group. He spent 21 years with Tata Steel, and the next 7 years as CEO of Tata Metaliks and then of Rallis India.
Since 2008, he has been an active board member of Magic Bus India, one of India’s largest NGOs which currently works on creating skills, competencies, and livelihoods for more than 400,000 under-privileged children across the country. He is also a Director on the board of the Indian Council of Global Relations (ICGR), a not-for-profit think tank.
He studied Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, and from the Delhi School of Economics. He went on to do his MBA from the Yale School of Management, USA as a J N Tata scholar, and was selected as a Distinguished Alumnus of the School.

SHRI DIPAK HAKSAR
MEMBERSHRI DIPAK HAKSARMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of The Scindia School, he is the former Chief Executive Officer, ITC Hotels. Under his leadership, ITC Hotels leveraged 'Responsible Luxury' to garner accolades and recognition on various platforms, namely, World Legacy Award by National Geographic; Most Respected Hotel Chain by Business World; Best Luxury Chain by Travel + Leisure among others. His stewardship has ensured that ITC Hotels is at the forefront of keeping Indian culinary traditions in the limelight with brands like Bukhara, Dum Pukht, Dakshin and Royal Vega.
With a GMP from Cornell University, he began his journey with the ITC Maurya in 1978 and held various portfolios in the organization over the last 30 years managing both leisure and business hotels. His dynamic leadership has not only won him many professional accolades but also earned him the respect of industry peers. He was the Chairman of ASSOCHAM National Council for Tourism and Hospitality and Chairman CII National Tourism Committee on Tourism & Hospitality.
A strong proponent of inclusive growth, he is a firm believer that all tourism industry stakeholders must align their goals towards a larger sustainable agenda that is aimed towards protecting the environment, respecting local cultures, is beneficial to local communities and conserving natural resources.
While in school, he was the School prefect, Football Captain, Basketball Captain, earned Colours in Hockey, Football and Athletics & won the Cariappa shield.

SHRI MAHANAARYAMAN SCINDIA
MEMBERSHRI MAHANAARYAMAN SCINDIAMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyShri Mahanaaryaman J Scindia has been on the Board for slightly more than a year now. He completed his B.A in Political Science from Yale University in the United States. He also studied at Summer School of the London School of Economics & Political Science for a course on Middle East & Global Politics. He did his schooling from The Doon School. He was the School Prefect, which is the highest responsibility and leadership position in a residential school.
He has the professional experience of working with Macro Advisory Partners, New York as Summer Intern; Softbank Group - San Francisco as Summer Analyst; Christie’s Summer intern in London; Gross National Happiness commission, Bhutan as Summer Intern and, he also interned with Shri Arun Jaitley, Former Union Finance Minister. He has the experience of implementing his father, HH Maharaja Jyotiraditya Scindia’s political campaign, media, and publicity activities.
He is the Founder of Koshish, an Indo-Pak Peace initiative. Under the banner of this initiative, he independently conceptualized and organized a 60-member peace initiative and conference using Track II diplomacy for high school students from Pakistan and Bangladesh to discuss sub continental relations and its impact on youth. Another area that he is passionate about is environmental sustainability.
On the Board he is the member of the Admissions Committee & the ICT Committee.

SHRI HARISH BHOJWANI
MEMBERSHRI HARISH BHOJWANIMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of The Scindia School from the Batch of 1995, he is a nominee of the State Government on the Board.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and has done an MBA from Cardiff University, UK.
Currently, he is the Executive Director of Econ Antri Limited, Gwalior and a reputed manufacturer of PS Concrete Sleepers.
As a member of the Board, he contributes in policies pertaining to safety, services & key decisions for students, staff (including their families) and parents. The Board does this through proper governance - a process by which Board leads and directs the organization. This process includes setting the school strategy, setting organizational values, culture, and supervising the work of the administration.

SHRI AMAR JYOTI BINDAL
MEMBERSHRI AMAR JYOTI BINDALMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyA Government nominee, he has been on the Board for 7 years.
Through his long career, he founded and led several manufacturing and financial services companies. He is credited with introducing knitted textiles for industrial use and as leisurewear in India in the 1970s and early 1980s.
He has deep roots to the Scindia School and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, both as a parent and grandparent, as well as the city of Gwalior which has been his home for 70 years. He remains a very active investor through his family office and in advising the current generation of entrepreneurs in Madhya Pradesh as trusted counsel.
He is an Electronics Engineer, educated at BITS Pilani and MITS Gwalior, and is currently a Director of Income Industries.
As a member, he believes that the role of the Board of Governors is to mentor the school with a view to provide the best possible educational opportunities to the students. With the governors’ experience & life skills, they need to set a strategic direction for the school. They should aim to decide the vision and future of the school, whilst providing guidance to maintain the heritage and values of the Scindia School.

SHRI JYOTI SAGAR
MEMBERSHRI JYOTI SAGARMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyHe completed his B.A. (Economics Honours) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi (1972) and an LL. B. from University of Delhi (1975). He has been on The Scindia Education Board for more than 8 years.
He is the Chairman and Founder of J. Sagar Associates (JSA), Advocates & Solicitors & Managing Partner, K&S Partners, Intellectual Property Attorneys. He is Associate President, Society of Indian Law Firms; and Past President of Asian Patent Attorneys Association (Indian Group) and currently serves as one of the International Vice Presidents of Asian Patent Attorneys Association.
He is also Chairman – Society for Urban Regeneration of Gurgaon (focuses on long term sustainable development issues of Gurgaon, National Capital Region); Trustee – Genesis Foundation (provides critical medical assistance to underprivileged children suffering from congenital heart defects); and supports Deepalaya (engaged in education of slum children in the National Capital Region).
He is a member of the American Bar Association; Asian Patent Attorneys Association; Delhi High Court Bar Association; International Trademark Association; Inter-Pacific Bar Association; Society of Indian Law Firms and the Supreme Court of India Bar.
On the board, he is the Chairman of School Management Committee, and a member of Finance & Audit Committee.

SHRI VIKRAM MATHUR
MEMBERSHRI VIKRAM MATHURMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of the class of 1974, he has been on the Board for 8 years. He studied at the University of Westminster (London) UK; FCA (London) and was awarded the Doctorate of Letters from the University of Westminster, UK. He had a very rewarding career working in various capacities with Rolls Royce e.g., Business Development, Power Projects, Oil & Gas, Marine Projects, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and more.
He also serves as a Governor of the International Students House, London U.K. and is the Ambassador of the University of Westminster, London U.K. He has been a Member, Board of Governors of the British School, New Delhi, from 2007-2010.
In his long and passionate association with the school, he has engaged in staff development; student mentoring; networking and alliances with national & international institutions; scholarships and alumni affairs. On the Scindia Education Society Board, he is the member of Admissions Committee, Awards & Alumni Relationships Committee and Academic Excellence & Placement Committee.

SHRI ARUN KAPUR
MEMBERSHRI ARUN KAPURMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyArun Kapur is an educator with more than four decades of experience in global spheres of public and private education. After completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from St. Stephen’s College, he worked as a teacher and Housemaster for more than a decade in the Doon School, Dehradun, India. In 1990, he became the founding Headmaster of the famous Vasant Valley School in Delhi. Since 2008, he has headed The Royal Academy in Bhutan, an initiative of His Majesty the King of Bhutan.
He is the founder and Chairman of Ritinjali, an NGO which was established in 1995 to catalyze community development among marginalized communities in India. Since 2001 he has created a network of Pallavan schools for pre-primary education, Pallavanjali school for inclusive education, founded Pallavan Learning Systems for educational research and finally in 2008, he founded Pallavan School in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, India. In 2018, he also helped establish the Paradise Valley Private School in Muscat. He is also the chairman of Centre for Escalation of Peace that creates platforms and programmes to encourage the free exchange of ideas across borders.
He has authored a few books; latest one is Serene Strength (Ritinjali, 2020) which explores the role of education in the making of a Person of Substance tempered with Serene Strength. His curriculum of The Five Areas of Development has been recognized by the HundrED organization of Finland as one of the 100 most inspiring global educational innovations for four consecutive years since 2017. In 2019, he was awarded the Druk Thuksey Award by His Majesty The King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck for his rich contributions to education in Bhutan.
He serves as the Chairman of Academic Excellence Committee on the Board of The Scindia School.

SHRI HARPAL SINGH
MEMBERSHRI HARPAL SINGHMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of The Doon School and an (Hons.) Graduate in Economics from St. Stephens College, New Delhi, he went on to do a B.S. in Economics and a Master’s in Public Affairs from the California State University at Hayward (C.S.C.H.), California, U.S.A, and has been on the Board of The Scindia School for 21 years. He has a diverse and wide-ranging experience of over 40 years in the corporate sector. Starting his career in the Tata Administrative Service he held senior positions with the Tata, Birla and Mahindra group of companies. He was Chairman and MD of Fortis Healthcare Limited and SRL Diagnostics Ltd. He was Non-Executive Chairman of, what was then, India’s largest Pharmaceutical Company, Ranbaxy. He is chairman of Impact projects private ltd.
He is and has been associated with school education for over 30 years and has been on the Board of some of India’s most renowned schools including The Doon School, The Shriram School, The Yadavindra Public Schools and Salwan Public Schools. He is Founder Chairman of the Nanhi Chhaan Foundation and was a member of the Board of Governors of IIT, Indore. He continues to be on the board of NIIT University. He was Chairman of Save the Children, India and a Board Member and Vice Chair on the global board of Save The Children International, UK. Through his own NGO, the Nanhi Chhaan Foundation, he focuses efforts on the girl child, on environment and on inter-faith harmony. Under his guidance the school has embarked on a project to develop the school into a vast ecological park.
On the school Board, he is the Chairman of HR Committee; Member, Finance & Audit Committee, and Invited Member of the Infrastructure Committee. He believes that the Board is a facilitator for school’s improvement. His desire is to ensure that the school always remains contemporary and relevant and Scindians grow to be exemplary citizens.

SHRI MAHESH GANDHI
MEMBERSHRI MAHESH GANDHIMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of the Scindia School, he is one of the longest serving Board Members. He has been on the Board for 26 years.
He is currently the Chairman of The Industrial Development & Investment Company Private Limited, which manufactures textiles and chemicals and deals in real estate. Mr Gandhi serves as a Director on the Board of several companies including Indo-Nippon Chemical Company Limited; Gujarat Reclaim & Rubber Products Limited; Vadilal Private Limited and Ghatkopar Estate & Finance Corporation Private Limited.
He is passionate about education and community development and serves in different capacities in various religious, medical, educational, charitable, social, and cultural organizations. He is the Vice President of the Gurukul Group of Educational Institutions (Mumbai), which imparts education to nearly 8000 students and has completed 105 years of existence.
As a member of the Board, his devotion as an Old Boy can be felt in every engagement. He mentors and guides the school to achieve its vision and mission. In the past he has served as the Chairman of Admissions and Infrastructure committees.

MEMBERSHRI VINAY MODIMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of the Scindia School, he holds a B. Tech in Chemical engineering from IIT, Kanpur. A renowned industrialist, he is the Chairman of Gujarat Guardian Limited & Modi Rubber Limited and is the Director of Modi Industries Limited. He has been on the Board of The Scindia School for 26 years.
He is also the Chairman, Board of Governors - Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management, Gwalior nominated by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India; Chairman, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, nominated by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India; Chairman, Standing Committee of Council of IITs and Coordination Forum of IITs (PPP), (SCCF) nominated by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
He strongly believes in giving back to society. He is the Trustee of GM Modi Charitable Trust (An Educational Institution). Several of his philanthropic initiatives are routed through this organization. -
SHRI AJAY SINGH
PRINCIPALSHRI AJAY SINGHPRINCIPAL -Mr Ajay Singh is an eminent educationist with a vast experience in the field of education, in which he has donned several roles in various capacities. With a Master's Degree in Psychology from the renowned Banaras Hindu University, and a B. Ed. as well as a UGC-NET qualification, he has a vast experience of teaching Psychology across diverse curriculums such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and IGCSE. Also, he has taught Theory of Knowledge and Global Perspectives to International Curriculums. As a pedagogical leader and a sports enthusiast, he combines the best of diverse disciplines.
In a career that encompasses a journey of more than two decades both as a facilitator and an administrator; Mr Singh has served the Mayo College, Ajmer for almost a decade as a Psychology Teacher, a Career Counsellor and eventually a Housemaster. Thereafter, he joined the Genesis Global School, Noida in the capacity of ‘Dean Residences’ and went on to head the National Curriculum (CBSE) of the School. Prior to joining The Scindia School, he has headed the Punjab Public School, Nabha.
A voracious reader and a travel enthusiast, he has travelled to many countries to understand the pedagogical systems practiced all over the world. He has many accolades to his credit- the ‘Excellence in Teaching Award’ , ‘International School Award’ , ‘The Most Transformational Practices in Student Development Award’ and quite importantly, the first ‘CV Raman Award’ for Principals on September 5, 2021 in an event organised by ThinkNiti. As an educational leader, he believes in providing transformational learning experiences to the learning community and enthusing them with a spirit of team building and camaraderie.

MEMBERSHRI RAVI SAUNDMEMBER - Scindia Education SocietyAn alumnus of The Scindia School, Mr Ravi Saund is an invited member to the School’s Board. He has completed a Master’s in Business Administration from Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education. Thereafter, he went to the Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A and completed a General Management Program.
Mr Saund is well known for his affable and forthcoming personality. He is forever energetic and ready to help.
He is a name to reckon with in the real estate world. He brings with him, his experience and expertise in the field to revitalize the infrastructure development ventures of the school including the much-awaited water harvesting project.
On the Board, he is the Chairman of the Infrastructure Committee.

Following his studies at a management school, he completed his education degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. An avid traveler with a passion for the wilderness, he has explored all seven continents, including polar expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctica, which fueled his love for wildlife photography. His work, showcased in exhibitions like Wildlife Safari of Masai Mara and The Great Barrier Reef, captures stunning landscapes and wildlife.
Beyond photography, Mr Dikshit is the driving force behind the Chandigarh Literature and Film Festival and the Chandigarh Children’s Literature Festival, where he emphasizes the value of works over celebrity creators. Additionally, he serves as President of the International Space Society, promoting space science among India’s youth through national conferences and exhibitions. His broad educational background, diverse skills, and genuine zest for life give Mitul’s work a unique, engaging perspective.
